Pay

• Qualified flat rate $46.13 dollars per hour inclusive of overtime and relevant penalties
• Superannuation paid in addition
• Max term contract with leave entitlements

What you will do

• Inspect trains and complete safety checks and defect reports
• Support wagon maintenance and yard servicing tasks
• Assist with shunting and safe movement of rolling stock
• Provision trains and prepare consists for service as directed
• Liaise with planners supervisors and contractors to position and release wagons
• Take part in toolbox talks and follow all site and network rules

Roster and conditions

• Rotating day and night shifts
• 6 days on and 3 days off
• 8-hour shifts
• All PPE supplied
• • Average about 74 hours 40 minutes per fortnight over the roster cycle

About you

• Safety-focused with strong attention to detail
• Calm and methodical in a safety critical environment
• Clear communicator who works well in a small team and alone
• Reliable for shift work in all weather

Must have

• Recent experience in provisioning trains, shunting and wagon inspections
• Full C class driver licence or higher
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
• Ability to pass a Category 1 rail medical fitness assessment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing
• National Police Check with no court disclosable outcomes

Nice to have

• High Risk licences such as Fork Lift
• Track safety awareness relevant to the network
• Experience with freight operations
