Pay progression
• Training commencement $30.35 per hour
• On the job training $42.36 per hour
• Qualified $46.13 per hour flat rate plus superannuation
What’s on offer
• Paid, nationally recognised training. No rail experience required
• Casual training phase with classroom and practical components
• Transition to full time max term employment after successful training and Verification of Competency
• Pay increases linked to training milestones and competency sign off
• Rotating roster across days and nights. 6 days on and 3 days off. 8 hour shifts
• All PPE supplied
• Support from experienced supervisors and a friendly team
About the role
• Carry out train inspections and safety checks
• Support wagon maintenance tasks
• Safely use tools and equipment and assist with shunting
• Keep accurate records and report defects
• Work with planners, supervisors and contractors to manage wagon movements
• Take part in toolbox talks and follow all safety procedures
About you
• Safety focussed and comfortable working outdoors
• Willing to learn and take direction
• Able to follow set procedures in a safety critical environment
• Reliable for shift work and able to work both independently and in a team
Requirements
• Full C Class driver licence or higher
• Basic computer and literacy skills
• Ability to pass a Category 1 Rail Medical, fitness assessment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing
• HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
• National Police Check with no court disclosable outcomes
