About the role
We are seeking experienced Wagon Maintainers to join our team in the Newcastle / Hunter Valley region, NSW. In this role you will carry out maintenance, servicing and repair of rail wagons so they remain safe, reliable and ready for service.

About the role
We are seeking experienced Wagon Maintainers to join our team in the Newcastle / Hunter Valley region, NSW. In this role you will carry out maintenance, servicing and repair of rail wagons so they remain safe, reliable and ready for service.
Key responsibilities
- Inspect, repair and maintain rail wagons in line with safety and operational standards
- Complete scheduled servicing, component replacement and modifications as required
- Carry out fault finding and troubleshooting on wagon components, including brakes, couplers and suspension systems
- Communicate safely and clearly using radios in a rail environment
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections and maintenance activities
- Follow all Safety, Health and Environment requirements and procedures
- Support yard operations, including basic shunting tasks if required (shunting experience is desirable but not essential)
- First Aid certificate or willing to obtain
- Forklift ticket
- HR licence
- Ability to successfully pass a rail Category 1 medical clearance (including musculoskeletal assessment)
- Current Australian Class C minimum driver’s licence (no restrictions)
- White Card
- Relevant TLI unit Statements of Attainment aligned to wagon maintenance or rail operations
- Valid National Police Clearance with no disclosable court outcomes
- Proven experience in rail wagon repair and maintenance, or a similar heavy mechanical environment
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions and all weather environments
- Strong practical problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Clear and confident communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
