About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Locomotive Provisions Assistant to join our team in Melbourne. This role supports train operations through hands on assistance with locomotive preparation, train servicing, and crew support in a fast paced operational environment.

Training can be provided where required, with a different rate applying during training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with locomotive and wagon preparation including pre start checks, brake testing, fuel, water, and supplies
• Ensure rolling stock is correctly secured in line with network requirements
• Support Train Crew through clear communication and operational assistance
• Follow all rail safety and corridor access requirements
• Assist with routine inspections of wagons and locomotives
• Maintain cleanliness and serviceability of equipment including radios, torches, and safety gear

Requirements:

• Rail Category 1 Medical including musculoskeletal assessment
• Forklift licence
• Full Australian drivers licence with no restrictions
• Relevant rail TLI units aligned to the role
• National Police Check with no court outcomes
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Current First Aid Certificate (highly regarded)
