About the Role
  
As a Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in the design, development, and refinement of electrical components and assemblies — including wire harnesses, switches, heating elements, power boards, induction coils, and more. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of these systems into production, driving continuous improvement and supporting world-class manufacturing standards.
  
Key Responsibilities:
  
  • Design, develop, and refine electrical components and assemblies for production.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to develop new electrical systems guided by project plans.
  • Ensure compliance with all electrical engineering standards, prioritizing safety, functionality, and reliability.
  • Lead cost-reduction projects for materials and labour.
  • Implement KAIZEN initiatives to enhance product quality and performance.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models and drawings using CATIA software.
  • Oversee prototyping, testing, quality verification, and production trials.
  • Work closely with Quality, Purchasing, Production, Logistics, and Manufacturing teams.
  • Maintain and update BOMs, ECNs, and component approvals.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve design and production issues.
  • Participate in FMEA activities and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, timelines, and risk assessments.
  • Support new model production ramp-up to ensure all performance and quality benchmarks are met.
  
What You’ll Bring
  
  • Tertiary qualification in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering (or related field).
  • Proven experience in electrical design and development, ideally in a manufacturing or product development environment.
  • Proficiency in CATIA or similar 3D CAD software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards, manufacturing processes, and continuous improvement principles.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
