Key Responsibilities:
The Technician shall:
- Have a good understanding of WHS legislation and policies with regards to production
- Have a sound general understanding of the operational features of the production equipment incl fabrication (welding and CNC machining)
- Have a good understanding of standard operating procedures with regards to production
- Have a good understanding of the value of attention to detail with regards to production systems and procedures
- Good understanding of ISO9001 requirements
- Be able to understand and read drawings
The Technician will be responsible for:
- Maintaining compliance with WHS Legislation, Regulations and Council Requirements incl. (but not limited)
- Forklift procedures and practices
- Production Equipment incl welders and CNC equipment
- Safety of himself and his colleagues
- Following work instructions to ensure correct product is delivered to the required standard
- Utilising correct fabrication techniques to ensure the product meets customer expectations
- Attention to detail during manufacturing of parts to ensure repeatability
- On time delivery of goods to customers – internal/external
- Maintain 5S standards in the production area
- Prepare necessary documentation for production
- Packing or checking packaging of goods
- Assist in Production activities when not occupied with production duties
- Assist with continuous improvement by using LEAN manufacturing
- Any other duties as required by the management team
The Technician shall possess, or work towards the development of, the following skill, experience or qualifications:
- Sound understanding of WHS procedures with regards to production
- Experience associated with production equipment
- Forklift license (counterbalance and high reach)
- Fabrication experience (Cert III or Cert IV or trade qualified)
