Job description

Primary Duties include but not limited to:
  • Verify daily production data and records  to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee NIR equipment to ensure all data and samples are current
  • Maintain equipment and associate accessories / consumables
  • Ensure QA lab samples are taken and sent to external lab for testing including export and also for calibration
  • Enter and upload data and install new databases as required 
  • Assist with investigation and follow up of any non-conformances relating to quality
  • Contribute to sensory evaluation, batch releases and ops recycling
  • Verify and monitor periodic cleaning schedule
  • Participate where necessary with QA required for qualification of new materials and industrial trials and projects
  • Internal auditing duties - production records, HACCP and GMP
  • Assist with document control of QMS / updates on instructions etc.
  • Assist with mentoring staff in production to improve culture and drive change.
  • Assist with ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 audit and system upgrades        
Required competencies
  • Relevant Tertiary qualifications in Food Science or similar. alternatively tenure / on the job training will also be considered
  • Good knowledge of HACCP and GMP principles 
  • Previous experience in a QA role within a food manufacturing environment 
  • ability to collect and analyse data and document reports and offer suggestions for improvements 
  • Intermediate computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to train and mentor staff to improve quality culture
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
