Locomotive Drivers & Assistants - Broken Hill

Trojan Rail is currently seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team in Broken Hill. We have immediate openings for Driver Assistants, Drivers Under Instruction, or Qualified Locomotive Drivers. In these roles, you will:

• Safely operate trains in accordance with Trojan Rail's regulations and federal laws
• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the locomotive is operating effectively.
• Communicate proactively with dispatchers, station personnel, and fellow drivers
• Respond swiftly to route changes, delays, or emergencies ensuring  freight safety
• Collaborate with onboard staff and contribute to any tasks as required.
• Continuously enhance your knowledge of rail routes, signals, and safety regulations in the Broken Hill region
• Adhere to a 1 week on, 1 week off roster

Requirements for the Role Candidates interested in these positions must:

• Possess a Certificate IV in Train Driving (for Locomotive Drivers).
• Successfully pass all preliminary checks, including a CAT 1 Rail Medical.
• Adhere to the National Code of Practice Safeworking
• Possess Australian Working Rights
• Hold an unrestricted Class C driver’s license
• Have knowledge of South Australian regional routes
• Align with Trojan Rail's safety standards and values
