Trojan Rail has a number of positions for our Locomotive Driver Traineeship program in multiple locations across North Queensland. We’re currently seeking expressions of interest for our next intake, which will commence in August.

About Us: Trojan Rail, a division of Trojan Recruitment Group, is a specialist provider of accredited rail workforces to the Australian Rail Industry.
Trojan’s affiliation with the rail industry commenced over 20 years ago, with the provision of resources in the capacity of labour hire services.
Trojan Rail currently services Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

About the training: This nationally accredited traineeship program has been designed to assist people from all walks of life to become a skilled Locomotive Driver.
This traineeship offers progressive wage renumeration throughout the length of the program which is fulltime for 2 years.

Being a Locomotive Driver involves a broad range of specialised knowledge and skills in varied contexts to undertake skilled work within a train driving environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience: As there is no prior experience required to be successful, but we do require successful applicants to have outstanding experience within the following skills:

  • Attentive to detail - superior ability to interpret and work with technical information
  • Superior communicator - communicate with clarity
  • Team Player - ability to build strong working relationships

Application Process: As part of the recruitment process for these positions, you may be required to complete a range of assessments and screening activities. Components may include written assessments, psychometric assessments, and video interviews. You may be asked to attend a face to face interview, provide at least 2 work related referees for reference checks and undertake pre-employment medical assessments that include drug and alcohol testing and fitness assessments.
