We are currently seeking an experienced “Electronics Engineering Manager” for a Permanent opportunities based in the Penrith Sydney area, to work for our clinet that designs and manufactures a range of currency handling equipment such as coin and bank note validators. About the role:
They are currently seeking an R&D Engineering Manager to lead a small multi-disciplined team of creative and innovative engineers.
Reporting to the Group General Manager, responsibilities include managing all engineering resources, to ensure the business achieves a high standard of quality engineered products to meet customer expectations.
This will require strong engagement with our Sales departments and Customer representatives throughout the group, manage and grow the engineering workforce for optimum execution, including the use of Regional office engineering personnel in areas required to achieve and meet expected project outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage Engineering projects to completion in a professional and well organised manner.
• Manage and Maintain product and project records and all relevant documentation in respect to Electronic & Mechanical design, hardware, software and firmware
• Maintain new and existing product software for PC based applications and embedded firmware
• Understand Protocol interfaces, firmware and software development
• Manage Note and Coin dataset development
• Provide and maintain Product Software test procedures and Technical Bulletins
• Manage Global technical support and documentation
• Provide regular updates and reports on Engineering projects developments
• Liaise with regional offices on ASY product matters
• Manage Engineering personnel and assets.
• Develop proposals for new products and enhancement of existing products
• Develop skills in Currency handling technology and methodology
• Provide conceptual input into new currency handling products and peripherals
• Maintain existing Patents, while proposing and preparing new patents
• Manage records on currency data set development and customer requests.
• Manage the company’s collection of Notes and Coins

Key Expectations & Requirements:

• Engineering Degree Qualifications in the areas of either :-
  Electronics Hardware Engineering
  Software Development Engineering
  Embedded Firmware Engineering
• Experienced Engineering development skills in one or more of these areas
• 3-5 years engineering management experience
• Well-developed project management skills
• Proven track record of delivery and success in the areas problem solving and process change / improvement
• Background in Currency handling equipment an advantage but not essential
