Supply Chain Specialist

The Supply Chain Specialist:

• Have a good understanding of WHS legislation and policies with regards to Supply Chain and supply chain management incl. Chain of Responsibility and Hazardous Goods
• Have the ability to continuously improve and optimise the supply chain
• Have the ability to collect, analyse and interpret freight data (national and international) including detailed cost analysis
• Strong and effective negotiator when sourcing products and services
• Have a good understanding of requirements for any imported goods
• Effective interaction with the warehouse and distribution centres (intercompany warehouses)
• Be capable of effective oral and written communication.
• Supporting warehouse operations – stock control, inventory management, on time delivery, export, receiving and dispatching
• Analysing and managing the supply chain for imported and locally sourced raw materials and finished goods
• Negotiate, source and purchase materials from suppliers and effective vendor management
• Optimising freight options for international and national shipping
• Effective contract negotiation and management
• Active financial analysis of overall supply chain cost
• Investigating root causes for on time delivery failures and implement corrective actions.
• Supply chain best practices
• Project Management
• Expert Negotiator
• Logistics/Warehouse Management/Supply Chain qualification (preferably a diploma, or certification through APICS, or a degree)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Supply Chain environment
• Experience implementing barcoding systems
• Solid understanding of LEAN principles and practices
• A good understanding of information management systems including Visual Manufacturing (ERP) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Powerpoint)
