Qualified Locomotive Drivers -Port Shuttle Service

About the Role:

We're seeking experienced Locomotive Drivers to operate a new short-haul port shuttle service between ITC Somerton Intermodal Terminal and the Port of Melbourne. This is a great opportunity to join a fixed roster on a high-frequency, short-distance freight run, working with 3000 and 6000 class locomotives.
  
What's On Offer:

• $90 per hour (casual rate)
• Fixed roster – 6 days per week
• Shifts of 8–12 hours per day
• Consistent, short-turnaround port shuttle work (not long-haul)
• Immediate start – we're looking to be operational within days

The Roster:

• Roster cycle
• 6-day operating week
• Regular, predictable shuttle runs between Somerton and the Port of Melbourne

About You:

• Valid Locomotive Driver competency (VIC network experience preferred)
• Current Category 1 Rail Medical
• Experience or familiarity with 3000 and/or 6000 class locomotives highly regarded
• Strong understanding of Melbourne metropolitan rail network and port precinct operations
• Sound knowledge of safe working procedures, signalling, and shunting
• Ability to work a rotating roster including early starts, late finishes, and varied shift lengths
• Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work autonomously
