We are currently seeking an experienced “Project Engineer" “for a Permanent opportunity based in “Geebung Queensland “area, to work at a world leading industrial group within vertical access solutions for example - Industrial elevators, construction / industrial hoists and mast climbing work platforms with market presence in over 50 countries.   • A diverse role to increase revenue and profitability into the Rental and Construction market in Queensland. 
  • This is a dual-purpose Sales & Project Engineering role that composes of 80% Project Management & 20% Sales that oversees all aspects of business development, order growth, revenue growth and account management. 
  • The secondary purpose of the role is to drive efficient Project Operations by liaising with customer & internal (Application Engineering, Workshop, Planning) for delivery and installation.
  • It suits someone who is engaged, driven, at the ‘coal face’.  The successful candidate will be regularly on site coordinating existing projects and also meeting customers to consult on sales opportunities.

  • Reporting directly to the QLD Operations Manager.
Project Engineering / Managment:
  • As the primary customer contact regularly visit customer projects to discuss engineering drawings, safety plans, installation schedules.
  • Manage & review project costs to ensure that project budget is achieved.
  • Ensure that project administration, stock control, cost reviews are completed.
  • Review Safe Work Method Statements and edit / update as required.
  • Communicate the budget and milestones through regular project meetings.
  • Be responsible for delivery of customer service.
  • Drive lean processes and continuous improvement in the Operation.
Sales / Account Management:
  • Collaborate with Division Manager Construction to develop the sales strategy ensuring this is in line with Regional strategy and Group strategy. This includes new sales, rental, service, and used equipment sales.
  • Accountable for the creation of new business (order booking) which meets or exceeds given targets
  • Ensure all new business complies with Group sales strategies and margins
  • Responsible for Account Management of existing customer base ensuring repeat business and ongoing service and sales.
To be successful in this role you will need to have the following criteria:
  • Ability to scope and accurately quote a project specific engineered application. 
  • Demonstrable consultative sales experience 
  • Evidence of project management in the Construction industry.
  • Experience in some sort of selling customised capital goods 
  • Experience with international organisation, multiple regions and multiple product lines.
  • Experience of selling in a safety and quality culture.
  • Experienced in operating at management level.
  • Experience of contract negotiation, risk identification, risk mitigation and risk management.
  • Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent experience of 3 - 4 years.
  • Experience in reviewing safe installation methods & documentation
  • Lean/Continuous Improvement experience
