Job description

AAF is Australia’s leading independent finisher of Architectural Aluminium. For more than 40 years they have been providing award winning Anodising and Powder Coating solutions from facilities located in Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane. They are currently looking to expand their highly experienced finishing team, with an opportunity on offer for a manual powder coater to become part of the AAF team.
  
AAF Melbourne is currently diversifying its operations and has recently invested in additional equipment. This additional capability will boost the ability to meet the needs of a range of customers, ensuring continuous improvement of their service offering and strengthening an already extensive product offering.
  
To support this expansion, we are seeking an experienced "manual system" Powder Coater. The successful applicant will have substantial experience operating manual Powdercoat systems, bringing operational knowledge of equipment including spray guns, ovens, spray booths and extraction equipment. Supporting these skills will be an in-depth knowledge of metal preparation, pre-treatment, powder application and curing requirements.

Above all else we are seeking a person with superior hand spraying ability with experience across a range of materials and formats. High quality workmanship is critical to success of this role and is a must for everything undertaken at AAF.
Specific requirements include:
  • Organise jobs prior to coating
  • Quality control of inwards goods and finished product
  • Pre-treatment of various products to be powder coated
  • Load / Unload jobs onto Powder Coat Lines
  • Powder coating of steel and aluminium products using a manual system
  • Curing of powder coated products using industrial oven
  • Cleaning of guns, spray booth and other equipment as required
  • Spray equipment maintenance
  • Packing finished product
  • General house keeping
  
This day shift, Monday to Friday role requires a strong customer focus where meeting customer expectation for both quality and delivery are of the highest priority.
