Job description
Trojan Rail has partnered with a third-party RTO called Rail Ready (No. 90440) to deliver a Maintenance Support Officer training program. We are currently seeking expressions of interest for our next course, which will run in early 2022 in Mackay
About the training
This nationally accredited training program has been designed to assist people from all walks of life to become a skilled Maintenance Support Officer.
What does it mean to be a Maintenance Support Officer?
As a Maintenance Support Officer, you will be responsible for the support of AIS maintenance operations within the Nebo Facility through the completion of operational tasks such as shunting, train roll by inspections, verification of train consists, remarshalling of trains, rollingstock auditing and other AIS operational tasks as requested.
Course Prerequisites
This is a paid position and Trojan Rail will underwrite the cost of course fees. Limited places available.

Course Prerequisites
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Be able problem solve
- Must display a high regard for safety
- Basic level of computer proficiency
- A passion for success and personal development
- Mechanical aptitude and basic skills in hand tool use
- Must hold a current motor vehicle licence – No Restrictions
- Must be able to successfully provide a Category 1 Rail Medical before the commencement of the program
- Experience working in a shift work environment preferred
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
