Our ideal candidate will have:

• Recognised National units of competence that align to this position
• Proven work history in locomotive driving or as a Driver Assistant duties
• Current unrestricted motor vehicle drivers’ licence
• Flexible to work over a 24/7 roster
• Australian work rights
• Willingness to undertake training and development activities
• Ability to complete a rail CAT 1 medical assessments

Key responsibilities

• Operation of locomotives including mainline, shunting and yard operations
• Examine and certify trains ready for departure
• Ongoing training for career progression
• Apply best practice train management techniques to ensure efficient and safe train operations.
• Work in accordance to our customers safety and operational standards and procedures
• Contribute to continuous improvement and change
• Provide excellent customer service

• You are an Australian or New Zealand citizen
• You are an Australian permanent resident
• You have the correct visa to permit you to do particular work under certain conditions
