We are currently seeking an experienced “Business Development Manager" “for a Permanent opportunity based in Penrith Sydney area, to work at a reputable "Sheet Metal,wire & tube manufacturing company" utilising the latest CNC technology to provide superior quality components & products. You will need to be a team player, as a BDM your job will be to grow the business. Interviewing now! Start ASAP


This position will have no direct reports at this time, but will be required to collaborate with fellow BDM’s and Sales Support.
  • Achieve a monthly budget of $250,000 plus in revenue by actively prospecting for new customers and existing business opportunities.
  • Exercise a commercially astute outlook in order to ensure profitable sales and ongoing growth to an established customer base through competitive product offers and appropriate service and technical support.
  • Actively promote all the company’s products and establish new customers and markets.
  • Compliant use of the company CRM or must have used some sort or CRM database.
  • M1 - ERP experience is an advantage.
  • Provide information on and assist in the promotion and development of new product requirements and market opportunities.
  • Provide weekly sales reporting and monthly forecasting information on customer requirements.
  • Provide regular competitive information on pricing product offer and financial issues to ensure all the companies products maintains a competitive edge.
  • Provide quotations, technical support and application advice to customers.
  • Answer and process sales enquiries and sales orders, confirm deliveries, amendments and pricing to customers.
  • Actively participate in relevant industry associated trade shows, exhibitions and training courses.
  • Liaise with relevant departments regarding the customer requirements.
  • Assist in early resolution of product quality or customer complaints and to liaise with all relevant departments to ensure customer satisfaction and closure of any issues or complaints.
  • Be actively involved in company discussions, formulation and implementation of policies and procedural changes.
  • Work within and according to the company’s procedures and guidelines, quality assurance system and WHS programs.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a senior sales or key business development management position in the steel or fabricating industry! 
  • Valid driver’s license
  • No criminal record

  • Sound technical and commercial knowledge
  • Proficiency in MS Office and CRM software
  • Proficiency in online communication tools such as Zoom and MS Teams
  • Knowledge of the light engineering marketplace
  • Effective communicator with excellent written and oral skills
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and people skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Sound knowledge and awareness of the key customers manufacturing, technical, sales and commercial environment.
  • Ability to plan and organise own time effectively, setting priorities so as to achieve specific objectives and deadlines delegate tasks and empower people.relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions.
  • Able to follow procedures with accurate attention to detail.
  • Organising, planning, and prioritising work - developing specific goals.
  • Scheduling work and activities - scheduling events, programs, and activities, as well.
  • Thinking creatively - developing, designing, or creating new applications, ideas.
  • Self- motivated and pro-active approach with the ability to make sound decisions.
  • Accept ownership of issues and completes them within the agreed time frames.
Physical attributes:
  • BDM’s are expected to be physically mobile in order to visit customers at their premises, attend trade shows and fairs, walk around the factory.
  • The selected BDM will need to undergo a pre employed medical examination.
