Program Period – 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2027
Any bonuses for referral and retention program will be paid at the end of the full program period after 28 February 2027
All bonus payments are gross amounts and subject to applicable tax and superannuation obligations
Referred employees must be qualified Locomotive Drivers who are successfully onboarded with Trojan Rail after meeting all selection criteria and offered employment
Employees must remain employed with Trojan Rail for the entire duration of the program period
Eligible employees must work solely for Pacific National
Existing Pacific National employees cannot be referred as part of this program
Eligibility is based on availability, shift engagement, safety and compliance and is not based on guaranteed hours.
Availability:
Eligible employees must maintain an average of 80% availability throughout the whole program period including weekdays, weekends and public holidays
Availability does not guarantee shifts or hours. Shifts continue to be offered based on operational and fatigue requirements
Employees can nominate up to 14 days of absences across the whole program period without impacting availability
Where no work is available due to ARTC shutdowns, network possessions or client stand downs, these periods are excluded from availability calculations
Employees will not be disadvantaged for periods where work cannot be offered
Casual employees may submit unavailability, however widespread unavailability during this period may affect eligibility
Shift Engagement:
CNAR means Casual Not Available for Roster. It is recorded where:
1. A casual employee indicates availability and declines a shift
2. Unavailability is submitted less than 12 days in advance
Repeated patterns of declining shifts or late submissions may affect eligibility for this bonus program
3. Employees must accept shifts if they have made themselves available
4. No unapproved absences or abandonment of employment will be acceptable
Safety and Compliance
Eligible employees must maintain acceptable safety performance
Eligible employees must have no substantiated serious safety breaches
